Like any other product of nature, hardwood flooring is not perfect. COSWICK Solid hardwood floors are manufactured with the highest quality standards and, in accordance with industry standards, flooring has a defect tolerance and grading variance up to 5%. Defects can be of natural or manufacturing nature. - Every piece of COSWICK Solid hardwood flooring is subject to scrupulous manufacturer’s inspection. However, final pre-installation inspection is the installer/homeowner’s responsibility. Installer must inspect every board before the installation. The installer should not install boards with doubtful or noticeable defects. Such boards should be put aside or trimmed and used near walls or in closets. Coswick’s liability is limited to replacing defective material in excess of 5% industry norm. Once nailed down, any strip is considered accepted by the installer or the homeowner.
- Use of stain, touch-up pen or putty pencil to correct defects is considered as a normal procedure during installation.
- Prior to installation the installer must make sure that all pre-installation requirements are met. Job-site conditions and subfloor must meet or exceed industry standards and manufacturer’s requirements. The manufacturer is not responsible for the product failure caused by inappropriate jobsite conditions, subfoor deficiencies, or poor installation.
- When ordering the floor, 5% cutting allowance should be added to actual square footage required.
