Designer Ekaterina Trukhanova opened the doors of her home to share the story of her interior built not only on beauty, but also on family values. The Black Swan project became the embodiment of a unique family legend, carefully preserved through generations.
There is hardly any new furniture in the house — every piece is a restored relic, filled with memories and the spirit of the past. The young creative family wanted to maintain this continuity and create a space where classic and contemporary styles coexist in harmony.
The special atmosphere is shaped by details: tall windows with mullioned bars and no curtains, vintage partitions, antique copper sconces, Soviet-era dressers and consoles, a 1970s Romanian bedroom set, a blueberry-colored kitchen, a cozy fireplace area and striking accents of modern art. Nothing here is accidental — every element serves the overall concept.
Flooring plays a key role in the interior. Ekaterina chose Coswick engineered hardwood in the Rocky Reef shade, applied in two patterns: classic plank and chevron. This combination emphasizes the home’s eclectic character, bridging tradition and modernity.
Black Swan is more than just an interior — it is a family history brought to life, where past and present intertwine in perfect harmony.
NB! Best Residential Interior, awarded by the Republican Design and Architecture Contest “Obstanovka”.
