The Gable Villa, located in Royan on the coast of the Caspian Sea in Iran, is a striking example of contemporary architecture in which the traditional gable form has been reinterpreted through a bold futuristic vision. Clad in wooden shingles, the building immediately captures attention with its unconventional broken roofline and complex geometry, creating a distinctive silhouette that defines the character of the entire project.

The architectural concept is based on the interplay between sloped and rectangular volumes. The interaction of these forms creates a dynamic spatial experience where interior and exterior spaces flow seamlessly into one another. High ceilings and a double-height living area enhance the sense of openness, while large panoramic windows flood the interior with natural light throughout the day.

A unique atmosphere is created by the raw, exposed concrete ceilings and walls, left unfinished to emphasize the building’s brutalist aesthetic. Against this minimalist concrete backdrop, the warmth and natural beauty of oak flooring stand out even more prominently, bringing comfort and balance to the industrial character of the architecture.

Another remarkable feature of the project is the open terrace beneath an A-frame roof overlooking the swimming pool. This space serves as a natural extension of the house and reinforces the architectural concept of a seamless connection between indoor and outdoor living.

For the flooring, Coswick three-layer engineered hardwood flooring in a rustic grade was selected. The natural oak tone and expressive wood grain complement the villa’s architectural concept, creating a warm contrast with the concrete, metal and glass elements throughout the interior.

The building’s complex geometry required a highly specialized approach to flooring layout and installation. The Exiss team developed and implemented a custom installation strategy, coordinating closely with architects and construction specialists throughout every stage of the project. As a result, the flooring became not only a functional interior element but also an integral part of the architectural vision.
